Chartered in August 1976 and formerly known as the Champaign-Urbana Personnel Association (CUPA), CiHRG continues to grow to meet the needs of our members. Our chapter is honored to be recognized with the 2024 SHRM Platinum Excel Award. This prestigious honor from SHRM acknowledges our chapter’s ongoing commitment to elevating the HR profession and driving positive change in workplaces throughout East Central Illinois. Annual Member DuesWe are a Dual Membership (DMR) Chapter with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Membership will include both SHRM National and Central Illinois Human Resource Group (CiHRG) benefits through a single annual renewal. The combined annual membership investment is $474, which includes $299 for SHRM membership and $175 for CiHRG chapter membership. This streamlined approach provides members with convenient one-time renewal, access to national SHRM resources and tools, and continued participation in CiHRG's local professional development, networking opportunities, and HR community. HR professionals who choose not to join SHRM are still welcome to attend CiHRG meetings as Friends of CiHRG by registering for individual events. SHRM Membership Dues Assistance ProgramAt CiHRG, we believe every HR professional should have access to the resources, education, and professional network that SHRM membership provides. To support this commitment, CiHRG offers a SHRM Membership Dues Assistance Program for individuals who demonstrate a commitment to the HR profession but face financial barriers to membership because of personal circumstances or because their employer does not provide reimbursement for SHRM dues. Subject to available funding, eligible applicants may receive a full or partial scholarship toward their annual SHRM membership dues. Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated financial need, commitment to the HR profession, and the potential impact SHRM membership will have on the applicant's professional growth. Funding is limited and awarded through a confidential application and review process. We encourage HR professionals who are passionate about their career but need financial assistance to apply. Investing in our members strengthens the Central Illinois HR community and helps advance the HR profession throughout our region. To apply, please fill out the scholarship application.
